The Yahoo!7 Blog
Yahoo!7 and the Seven Network today announced that Yahoo!7 will be the official online broadcaster for the 2010 Australian Open Tennis Championships.
In addition to its comprehensive news coverage of the Australian Open, Yahoo!7 will have exclusive vision, including match highlights from the grand slam matches, available through its video player.
Additionally there will be live scores of the matches as they happen and expert blogs from some of the best minds in tennis. Yahoo!7 Sport will also have detailed coverage from all the big Australian tournaments in the lead up to the Australian Open including the Sydney International and Kooyong Classic.
“Following the success of the Yahoo!7 Beijing Olympics site last year we will be taking a similar approach with our role as official broadcaster for the Australian Open. Our Yahoo!7 Australian Open Virtual Sports Stadium will be the only place that people can see extended video coverage following the matches being broadcast on the Seven Network - we will be the home of video footage of the Australian Open,” said Kath Hamilton, Audience Director for Yahoo!7.
“We will package up the best of the tournament for our audience and provide exclusive online footage of the matches, interviews and other on-court antics complimenting the Seven broadcast. People will be able to watch the tennis on TV and also surf online to get all the Australian Open content they need,” she said.
A range of advertising opportunities will be available. To visit the site go to: yahoo7.com.au/tennis
