How it works

The slider video player ad unit allows for maximum impact of video ad's across the various Yahoo!7 properties, providing the opportunity for an unparalleled user experience, commanding users attention and allowing for maximum exposure of your brand.

As the user scrolls down the page, the Slider Video Player and it's content follows along the browsers edge, always maintaining the user's focus, while the video ad is playing it is possible for the user rollover to view a Call-to-Action (optional) giving them further reason to click through to the supplied advertisers chosen URL.

Further to this the player can be completely customized through the use of an image as a "skin", in order to allow for branding by the advertiser. Tying it in closer with the video content being shown, this allows for maximum effectiveness of your campaign and provides many avenues in which to be creative. The choice really is yours, with this prime advertising placement.

Deliverables

Required Assets:

Click through URL
• May be a direct URL or a third party click tracking URL
Video
• A compressed video in FLV format with dimensions of 310x158. Alternatively you can supply an uncompressed video in such video formats* as either .MOV or .AVI format so we can easily convert it into an FLV for use within the Slider.
• Stream duration may be 15 to max 30 seconds, video should also be a max of 1mb in file size, any greater and it is likely the video will be rejected for resubmission.
• Video to be in 16:9 aspect ratio (Highly Recommended), 4:3 also accepted.

Optional Assets:

Call to action
• Up to a max of 40 characters including spaces. If no call to action is supplied then one will not be used.
Image for background "skin"
• 350X200 image for background skin, file size must not exceed 40k and must be in .png format, please download the template via the link provided in order to get the correct dimensions. Click here to download background skin templatePlease only modify the white area on the template, leaving the section in the middle empty. This will allow for the rectangular section in the middle to be transparent, allowing the video to show through.
• 40kb max filesize allowed.
• This must be in .png format.
• If a skin isn't supplied then the default one will be used.
Impresion Tracking URL
• 1x1 third party pixel imrpession tracking URL.

Streaming Asset Submission Guidelines

• Slider video player assets must be delivered to Yahoo! 5 business days prior to campaign launch or campaign launch may be delayed. Contact your Sales Representative for additional details.
• Delivery by FTP site or other online methods is preferable however delivery by CD ROM or DVD is also acceptable.

*Please be aware that the Slider Video Player currently runs on the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome on Windows NT based machines. Safari, Firefox 3 & Firefox 2 on Mac OS X 10.5.6

Please note that the Slider is an in-house Yahoo!7 creation and as such cannot be Third Party served, it can however as noted above, allow for ways to track the performance of your Slider Video campaign via Third Party click tracking and Impression URL's.
