A Floating ad is an out-of-banner and high impact ad that 'floats' above content and effectively draws users' attention for 10 seconds. Optionally, after the main floating element finishes playing, a 5 second floating reminder or a permanent leave behind banner (separate inline position needs to be booked) can used.

How it works:
• On page load, the floating element loads and plays over the page content for 10 seconds.
• After 10 seconds, the floating ad disappears. A 200x200 reminder may show for an additional 5 seconds, to be
positioned at Yahoo!'s discretion.
• If a permanent landing spot is used, a replay option may be included.
Floating Element
• 100k max file size.
• 10 seconds maximum play time.
• Flash movies may not exceed 24 fps (frames per second). 18 fps is recommended.
• All floating ads will be frequency capped at once per user per day.
• The floating element is the visible portion of the ad which floats over content.
• The floating element covers less than 75,000 (any dimensions, bound by the size of supplied templates) pixels at
any one time. This element should be bound within an invisible enclosure of 800 by 300 in dimensions.
• The floating element should take the shape of the object it represents, not an exact rectangle.
• Transparent areas may not be clickable
• Floating ads will be viewable to IE 5 and above.
• No full page overlays are allowed.
• Creative is subject to Yahoo!7 approval.
• Must implement a 'Close Ad' button on the floating creative.
• Must be stationary and clearly visible at all times. An Ad Feedback link may be added by Yahoo!7
Leave Behind and Landing Spot
• A landing spot and a leave behind (reminder) are optional and mutually exclusive. A floating ad can only be in one
of three formats: floating element only, floating element + leave behind, or floating element + landing spot.
• Leave behind may remain on the page for an additional 5 seconds. It will be positioned at the bottom right of the
browser window.
• Leave behind can be up to 200x200 and must be within the total 100k file size (5 seconds max).
• A separate tag for the landing spot must be supplied along with the tag for the floating element when a landing
spot is desired. Landing spots are essentially standard banners and should follow the standard specs.
• Landing spot is not frequency capped.
• The size of landing spot is outside the total 100k file size and its limit is outlined in the standard specs.
• The landing spot is not included in the price for the floating element. Talk to your sales representative to ensure
all required inventory is planned.
Obstruction
• Cannot cover or fly over the Yahoo!7 logo ever.
• Can fly over but cannot pause over another ad, cobrand logo, or primary interaction elements as specified by the
site (i.e. search boxes, primary navigation bars, etc.).
Animation
• There is an eight second maximum play time for the floating element.
• There is a one second maximum pause time over any given content.
Audio
• Audio may be activated on any user click. Activation on rollover is allowed with the following restrictions:
1. On rollout audio must immediately stop.
2. A 1 second delay between rollover and the start of the audio is required.
3. Yahoo!7 may reject ads which include audio on rollover that has a negative user experience.
• Audio must end either simultaneously or before the ad finishes playing.
• Audio must be encoded at a maximum volume of -12 db.
